Called in here after a long walk from Coniston. Decided on lunch whilst looking at the menu as there was something for all of us. Sadly missed a pic of my Husbands fish and chips. He said he was delicious. The steak and onion was really tasty followed by the scrumptious Homemade crumble. This was really hot and perfect for the cold weather. Will return the next time I’m in town!

Nice place, great breakfast included in the rooms and you get a free choice from the breakfast menue :) ample parking, decent kick off spot for the lakes by car, decent atmosphere. Rooms are cool, the beds a bit on the firm side, had some good nights sleep.

Our first pub we walked into in Coniston and it was lovely. Enjoyed a great pint of Guinness and a really nice steak. Perfect start to our time in Coniston. Would happily return.

Spent news years eve at the pub and had a really nice time . The food was first class , the ales were good and the selection of wines was excellent . One thing that did concern me was the campervan parking fee was £70 per night according to a member of staff which is outrageous , if true . Thank you for a lovely evening

Stayed here over a weekend in a double ensuite room. Alright for 2 nights but the bed was absolutely tiny, more like a small double, and the room was tiny. We were only staying 2 nights so on the 1st morning put the "do not disturb" sign on the door as we didn't need the room making up or towels changing but for some reason when we got back the room had been totally made up, cleaned and new towels etc, not sure what the point of the signs are if they aren't paid attention to. Pub was good, food was really nice as was breakfast which was included in the price (hot and cold brekky). On the 1st morning though I was given completely burnt black bacon which was inedible. Location was good, though to get to the lakeside or any towns you really need to drive or they're a few miles up the road. I would stay again but not in a double room.

Family meal for 10, we booked short notice so I was pleased they could fit us in. Excellent food and service, we had some 'bar snack' nibbles to share as starters which were delicious followed by a good cross section on the menu between us. The burgers were huge, the roast dinner excellent, the sausage and mash was again a generous portion and delicious, I has fish pie which was fantastic and so full of fish chunks, the steak pie was equally generous with the volume and quality of meat. The desserts were also very generous portions and delicious. The waiting staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was lovely, we had a really nice relaxed meal and didn't feel rushed to release the table. The prices were reasonable for the quality and I felt the food was good value for money. I have been here once before and would come again.

Went to the pub on our way back from attempting the corridor route. Had the beef burger and it was thick and gorgeous. Also tried some of their desserts which were also amazing. Overall happy eve.
